Unforgettable Patagonian Adventures Await at Our Estancias
We are a local pioneer ranching family proud to call Patagonia our home for the past 6 generations. Traditionally we have always been sheep and cattle ranchers, but we have been working in tourism since the beginning of the industry in Patagonia.
Estancia La Peninsula and Estancia Baguales are two very different but equally stunning ranches that we have developed into top quality tourism products. The lush green forests and mountains of La Peninsula stand out in stark contrast to the treeless yellow hills and black rugged peaks of Baguales. Both estancias offer superb off the beaten path nature experiences that will linger as the highlight of your Patagonia visit.
During our two weeks in Patagonia we did a lot of things, including trout fishing, hiking, and fine dining, but I think my wife and I agree that this was... read more our favorite. We did the overnight tour w/ a private guide (Cristian was incredible and you should request him if you book). In the morning we took a short ride to get acquainted w/ our horses and then back at the main house had a lamb barbecue which was the best meal we had in Chile. Then we took the horses back out for a longer ride to stay at the remote cabin La Barrosa where we had a great dinner and stayed the night. The next day we rode back to the main house seeing condors, caves, and among the best views we saw during our trip (which included Torres del Paine). All in all, it was an incredible experience and one I recommend adding to your Patagonia adventure if you have the opportunity.

A must do for any trip to Patagonia - 4 of us spent 2 weeks in Chile and this trip was definitely a highlight. The staff are extremely attentive to each individual on the tour and the level... read more of service during the activities was high.....and fun.
Two days before our trip the owner contacted my group to see if we could change dates due to poor weather on the day we had planned to attend. As we had another trip already planned for the date, the Estancia called the other tour group for us and rearranged our tours so we could complete both - which was great and no work for us.
On the day of out tour it was extremely windy and so the boat ride over was choppy to say the least. The guides however made sure we were all safe and all feeling okay throughout the boat ride. It was sooooo worth it .......the scenery and the activities were amazing. Not to mention that barbecued lamb and plenty of free- flowing red wine at lunch. Yes - it is expensive, but it is worth every peso.

One of the highlights of our trip to Chile - We are a family of 4 who travelled to Chile in March 2022. The trip was added relatively late in our planning process and we did not know... read more what to expect at all (like many, Torres Del Paine was our primary destination). We could not have been more happy with our experience. Ian and his team were so nice, so gracious, so informative.
Our trip consisted of a boat ride to the ranch, a horseback ride, lunch with a Patagonian BBQ, a demonstration of the sheep dogs, a demonstration of the sheep shearing, some time to relax, and a trip home. It was a beautiful, relaxing, enjoyable, even calming day after a lot of travel. We did not expect to be treated to such a delicious lunch with wine, lamb, potatoes, salad, etc. and such hospitality.
What we noticed the most about this trip is that Ian and his team treated us not like tourists but like guests. We could hardly tell he has done this for tourist groups for years. To be treated so well and to connect with hosts like this is in some ways even better than the beautiful views we had.
This trip was the most special part of our trip to Chile. I could not recommend this trip enough.

One of the best days of my life - We spent a whole day at Estrancia on the 2nd of March 2020. We were warmly met by Laura (guest manager) and Trisha our host for the day as we... read more boarded a faast, comfortable boat to take us along the Chillian fjord to reach Estrancia La Peninusla ranch. Trisha, was so knowledgeable, about teh fjord, its hsitory and local people and kept us all amused with friendly anecdotes.
It was teh beginning of a very special day, it was truly magigcal containing everyhting I love:
Friendly warm, knowledgeable hosts, a boat ride along open water surrounded by mountains, horse riding ( not done since I was a child and my husband never!) through breathtaking countryside and along the 'seashore' , huge sky's and fantastic scenery sooooo quiet and peaceful, getting to learn and understand the local culture, heritage, beautifully traditionally cooked BBQ lamb and learning about Sheep husbandry and finally puppies....truly one of the best days of my life ..oh and the red wine with lunch
Our special thanks go to the whole team, Trisha and Laura I have already mentioned, Phillippe for setting up the lamb BBQ, and setting us up for horse-riding, with hard hats etc not lest with mounting with his calm, reassuring manner, and leading us along the mountain paths, Fanny behind the scenes in the kitchen, for her steadfast leading behind the scenes, Donald the Captain for carving the lamb, sheep sheering and his bon homie...and not last to Zorro who steadfastly transported my very apprehensive husband on his back...to some of the best views in the world...
I believe you can also spend the night, in a secluded cabin and am very tempted to do so...maybe for my 65th who knows
A huge thank you to everyone
warmly caroline

Don’t Miss Estancia de Peninsula!!! - The day we spent at the Estancia with our guide, Trisha Hall, spotting eagles in the high country and exploring the beach and it’s waterfowl in the fiord. The barbecue... read more was outstanding, and the sheep herding and shearing were fascinating. And we got the most amazing puppy-fix visiting the mamma dog and her nine babies!!!

This was such a fun day and something different from the trekking and glaciers that you usually associate with Patagonia.
We were a small group of 14 people, taken... read more across the water to the Estancia with lookouts and some history explained on the way. We arrived to a light breakfast and were then taken to our horses. I was terrified but was assured it would be okay. the rest of my group leapt on and trotted off. I clambered on, clung on and then cried to get off! It was no problem. Me and my horse were led back by Nana whilst the rest of the group continued what was a spectacular ride up and over the hills. I was taken for a walk to a peak and viewpoint and then watched as some of the horses were shod.
Next was an incredible lunch of slow roast lamb and plenty of marvellous Chilean Carmenere. All served with a smile and lots of banter from the really friendly, welcoming staff.
Finally was a bit of a demo of the 2 delightful dogs rounding up the sheep and some sheep shearing. A thoroughly interesting day.

Exceptional Full Day Estancia Experience - What an incredible day! Our guide, Trisha was very experienced and knowledgeable. The horseback ride boasted exceptional views of the mountains and ocean and was perfect for riders with no... read more prior riding experience. The traditional slow roasted lamb was delicious as was all the other food and drink provided. The best food we have had in Patagonia! We really enjoyed the sheep shearing and sheep dog demonstrations as well as meeting the new puppies. All of the volunteers and staff were very welcoming and friendly and happy to answer all our questions about sustainable life on the estancia. Highly recommend this experience!!
